Living Doll
A/W 2014/15
“Living Doll was a collection inspired by a combination of my love of Japanese street style in Tokyo, the human body and human sexuality. My main focuses whilst researching my themes were Japanese Ball Jointed Dolls, the human anatomy and bondage. All of these themes brought up strange and disturbing imagery and my aim was to make it so that my audience would be able to look at these themes and discover some kind of acceptance within themselves for these things. Living Dolls can be so lifelike, that they scare the onlooker. The human body, when naked, can be an offensive sight to some. Bondage is majoritively looked upon as perverse and revolting. I wanted to change peoples ideas with this collection”.
